shallos

In the beginning, there was a 4-track recorder, and life was simple. Mark started Shallos as a simple idea to explore song writing, learn recording techniques and just have a bit of fun. There wasn't much concern with polish or refinement, just a laying down of ideas. Sometimes they'd be used in bands and other projects, sometimes they'd just stand on their own.

Shallos first CD was an attempt to do a punk/acoustic album, and included a few songs written in previous bands. One song "How the Highlights Sparkle" was written almost 13 years prior to release, but never recorded or released beyond a demo format.

Currently, Shallos is about to release his second acoustic album "The Autumn Leaf", a more layered offering still drawing on punk and indie influences, but venturing further into singer/songwriter territory. The songs for the album were written between august and september of 2005 and recording lasted into early 2007.
